Compact Air Pressure Regulator for Air Compressors

The primary function of a pressure regulator is to match the flow of gas through the regulator to the demand for gas placed upon it, while maintaining a constant output pressure. If the load flow decreases, the regulator flow must also decrease. Conversely, if the load flow increases, the regulator flow must increase to prevent the controlled pressure from decreasing due to a shortage of gas in the pressure system.

High-pressure gas from the supply enters the regulator through the inlet valve. The gas then enters the regulator body, which is controlled by the needle valve. As the pressure rises, it pushes the diaphragm, closing the inlet valve to which it is attached, and preventing additional gas from entering the regulator. The outlet side is fitted with a pressure gauge.

As gas is drawn from the outlet side, the pressure inside the regulator body falls. The diaphragm is pushed back by the spring, and the valve opens, letting more gas in from the supply until equilibrium is reached between the outlet pressure and the spring. The outlet pressure, therefore, depends on the spring force, which can be adjusted by means of an adjustment knob.

This 1/2" NPT, industrial-grade, heavy-duty regulator is designed for use with pneumatic air tools on compressed air lines. It features an adjustable pressure range from 7 PSI to 215 PSI, with a flow rate of 140 CFM. The unit has a 1/2" female NPT air inlet port and a 1/2" female NPT air outlet port, with a maximum input pressure of 250 PSI and a maximum output pressure of 215 PSI.

The regulator is equipped with a high-impact locking composite knob for easy adjustment of the output pressure. It also includes a wall-mounting bracket and a gauge for easy installation, along with operating and installation instructions.

Please note that the 1/2" NPT thread measures 0.850" in outside thread diameter.
